About Allison Molencupp
Interested in health care for as long as she could remember, Allison Molencupp said her mom was a nurse and she liked to look through her textbooks and ask questions. “After having my first child I knew for sure that I wanted to be a labor and delivery nurse,” she says.
Allison earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University (Bloomington, IN), and her Master of Science in Nursing – Midwifery at University of Cincinnati (Ohio). She completed a clinical rotation in primary care at Logansport Memorial Hospital (Logansport, IN) and three Nurse-Midwife Clinical Rotations at Zoe Midwifery (Goshen, IN), Logansport Memorial Hospital, and Elkhart General Hospital (IN).
Her philosophy as a midwife centers around trust, respect and empowerment. “I believe that pregnancy and birth are natural, transformative experiences, and my role is to support individuals and families through that journey with evidence-based care, compassion, and informed ch...

In her own words…
Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? My dad is the most influential person in my life; he has always strived to be better and provide for my sisters and me.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? My first job was at a local ice cream shop in my hometown call Char-Bett. There I grew great friendships and developed a work ethic that has grown with me.
What is your favorite food? Movie? Food: pizza, because there are endless options; Movie: How to Lose a Guy in 10 days.
What was your best/worst subjects in school? Best: has always been math; worst: science
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? Ina May Gaskin. She has been a powerful voice in midwifery and childbirth for decades, and her work has shaped the way many of us think about birth, not only as a medical event, but as a deeply human, empowering experience.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I am passionate about working towards a healthier version of me and my family.
What are your hobbies, interests? I love to read and spend time with my family. We have a little homestead that keeps us busy and entertained.
Do you have pets? We have a dog named Bernie, two cats named Penny and Benny, 19 chickens and 5 guineas.
What is something most people don’t know about you? Most people do not know that I have a twin sister. We are not identical, but we definitely look like sisters.
