About Stacey E. Watson, MD, CPE Stacey E. Watson, MD, CPE, is an internal medicine physician and hospitalist with extensive experience caring for adults with chronic disease, chronic pain and acute medical concerns. A hospitalist is a physician who specializes in caring for patients during a hospital stay, helping coordinate treatment, communicate with specialists and support a safe transition to the next stage of care. Throughout her career, Dr. Watson has provided care in both outpatient and hospital settings, giving her a broad perspective on patient health and wellness. Dr. Watson has a special interest in chronic pain management and interdisciplinary care. In addition to her clinical work, she has held leadership roles focused on quality improvement, population health and care management, and she has taught future physicians through faculty appointments at Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Human Medicine. Dr. Watson completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Michigan State University Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies. She earned her Doctor of Medicine from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine and a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from New Mexico State University. Dr. Watson is board certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine and holds certifications as a Certified Physician Executive and Certified Therapeutic Pain Specialist.
