About Amy Brown, NP
While Amy Brown’s original dream was to be a stay-at-home mom, she eventually decided to return to school as the needs of her family changed. “I always had a desire to care for people,” she says. That interest increased during the last year of her dad’s life, as he experienced many inpatient visits. “I saw the value in the staff/providers that took the time to not only care for my dad, but did so with compassion.”
Amy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Indiana University South Bend, South Bend, IN, and her Master of Science in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner at Goshen College, Goshen, IN.
In her role as a Family Nurse Practitioner, Amy performs physical exams, diagnoses and treats diseases and other health conditions. “I not only consider the physical symptoms, but also the emotional, social and environmental factors that affect a person’s well-being,” she says.
