With both her parents in health care, Certified Nurse Midwife Michelle Kaufman planned to be in the medical field for as long as she could remember. “I wanted to help people,” Michelle says. In fact, her entire immediate family (including her sister and brother) are also in healthcare roles.
Fascinated with pregnancy and birth, the field of women’s care appealed to her because of the momentous change it brings to a person’s life. Michelle is an advanced practice provider who cares for women; she specializes in reproductive health. She provides care in the areas of birth control, pregnancy, labor and postpartum.
Michelle earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a minor in women’s studies at Goshen College, Goshen, IN. For her Master of Nursing (Midwifery), she graduated from Oregon Health & Science University (Portland, OR). She worked at Reading Hospital in Reading, PA, for eight years as a Nurse Midwife.
