About Ashley Brunt
When Ashley Brunt, FNP, was given a toy medical kit, her curious mind sparked her fascination with caring for others. “That curiosity deepened as my father encouraged scientific exploration and as I experienced the profound impact of nursing firsthand,” she says. “These experiences reinforced my calling and later shaped my belief that nursing is both an applied science and an art—the science of knowledge and critical thinking, and the art of caring holistically for patients and families.”
Ashley earned her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Indiana University South Bend and her Master of Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, from Indiana University.
She describes her role as serving as a guide, helping patients and families understand complex medical information so that they can make informed decisions about their care. “When it comes to chronic diseases – like heart failure, diabetes, or asthma – a nurse practitioner helps patients manage their condit...

“When it comes to chronic diseases – like heart failure, diabetes, or asthma – a nurse practitioner helps patients manage their condition day to day, including improving access to care, safe housing, fair treatment, and financial stability which all affect health outcomes.”
Ashley spent 18 years in cardiovascular nursing and chose to advance her degree in general cardiology with a subspecialty focus in heart failure. Her philosophy as a provider is to serve as both a clinician and a partner in health. She is committed to advancing quality, equity, and dignity in every aspect of care.
