About Megan Conway, MD
About Dr. Conway
When Dr. Megan E. Conway volunteered at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit before her freshman year of college, she knew she had found her career path. “Becoming a doctor provided me with the perfect combination of science, leadership and public service,” she says.
For Dr. Conway, becoming a pediatric intensivist provides her the opportunity to care for the sickest, most vulnerable patients in the hospital using technology, medical evidence and experience to try to save their lives. This is in line with her training as a Doctor of Allopathic Medicine, which emphasizes the diagnosis and treatment of disease and the use of conventional, evidence-based therapeutic measures (such as drugs or surgery). She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics.

While people often ask her why she would want to do work that sounds “too sad,” Dr. Conway said she feels privileged to care for children and their families during an incredibly difficult time in their lives. “I am very dedicated to the care of each individual patient,” she says. “Every day my patients remind me about the fragility of life. I have learned to take nothing for granted, especially the little moments I have with my children.”
In her own words…
Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? My father. The impact of his unwavering support throughout my life cannot be overstated.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? I was a lifeguard every summer during my high school and college years.
What is your favorite food? Movie? What was your best/worst subjects in school growing up? My favorite food is pizza. My best subjects growing up were history and science. My worst subject was English.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? I would love to have dinner with my husband’s mother. She passed away years before I met him. It would be wonderful to meet the woman who raised my husband and learn about her, as well as more about him.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? What are your hobbies, interests? I absolutely love travelling, both internationally and state-side. I also love winter and water sports.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I studied abroad one summer during medical school at various hospitals in St. Petersburg, Russia.
