About O'Dene Lewis, MD
O'Dene H. Lewis, MD, is a board-certified physician with advanced training in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine. He earned his medical degree from the University of the West Indies Faculty of Medical Sciences in Kingston, Jamaica, and completed his internal medicine residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., followed by fellowship training in sleep medicine, pulmonary disease and critical care medicine at leading academic medical centers.
Dr. Lewis cares for patients with complex, life-threatening conditions, often in the intensive care unit, and is particularly passionate about pulmonary disease. He works closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver coordinated, compassionate care. “I treat patients who are critically ill, and I value the challenge and impact of caring for those with pulmonary disease,” he says.

Who is or was the most influential person or role model in your life? Ben Carson.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? I worked with my father fixing appliances and learned how to love fixing things.
What were your best and worst subjects in school? My best subject was calculus. My worst was literature.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone, who would it be and why? Barack Obama, because he embodies leadership with compassion, fairness, eloquence and a touch of swag.
What are your hobbies and interests? Powerlifting and tennis.
