About Moukthika Vaka, MBBS, MD, DM Moukthika Vaka, MBBS, MD, DM, is an interventional cardiologist with advanced training in cardiovascular medicine and clinical cardiac electrophysiology. Her experience includes coronary angiography, coronary angioplasty, cardiac catheterization studies and pacemaker implantation. Dr. Vaka combines advanced cardiovascular training with a commitment to education and lifelong learning. She has taught medical students, residents and other healthcare professionals through lectures and case discussions on a variety of heart and vascular topics. Her educational interests have included electrocardiography (ECG), cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, coronary artery disease, thrombolytic agents, rheumatic heart disease and the surgical management of ischemic heart disease. Through her involvement in teaching, Dr. Vaka helps support the development of future healthcare professionals. Dr. Vaka completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology at Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research in Bangalore, India. She earned a Doctorate of Medicine (DM) in Cardiology from Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences & Research and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) in General Medicine from Gandhi Medical College in Secunderabad, India. Dr. Vaka earned her Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Kadapa, India.
