About Melanie Leveille, DO
For Dr. Melanie Leveille, from a young age, taking trips to the hospital was normal. Those trips were to visit her father, a family physician. These visits sparked an interest within her to follow in her father's footsteps.
She decided to become a pediatric hospitalist because she would have full care of the child, and also because she could watch them bounce back and return to playfulness after being extremely ill.
"Kids have a natural energy and playfulness," Dr. Leveille said. "It's so rewarding to see them come back to their baseline of childlike happiness."
Dr. Leveille wants her young patients and their parents to leave feeling like they were listened to, and that all of the concerns they had were addressed.
A big part of achieving this goal comes from good teamwork, and Dr. Leveille believes that physicians can't be great without a great coordination of care.
Outside of work, she enjoys running, playing hockey, and reading.
