About Marcy Floyd
Educated at Goshen College, Goshen, IN, Marcy Floyd, FNP, decided on a medical career shortly after high school. During her years in the field, she has worked in Ortho-Neuro units, inpatient rehabilitation and in long-term care. With nearly two decades of experience on the orthopedic floor, she says, “It is something that I am comfortable with and skilled at as a nurse.”
As she cares for her patients, she remembers there is not just one answer to a problem and she always looks at other possibilities. Marcy wants them to know that she continually strives to be an expert in her field. “I want people to know that I will do my best at helping patients achieve their greatest health outcome.”
Treating patients as if they are a family member or a friend is Marcy’s philosophy. “I hope that they have felt compassion and caring from the way I treated them. That they have felt taken care of and heard,” she says. “Hope and encouragement is also what I have g...

In her own words…
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? My first job was at a ’5os and ’60s restaurant in Sawyer Michigan, called Golda’s. I remember spilling a shake all over a customer and making our own French fries with a potato smasher in the back of the restaurant.
What is your favorite food? Movie? Favorite food: Authentic Mexican tacos. I love watching the movie Elf.
What was your best/worst subjects in school growing up? Worst least favorite subject was history. My best subject was math.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? I would love to sit down with my grandma. She passed away when my mother was young, so I never got to meet her.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I am passionate about my faith, family and fitness. Although fitness is more of a chore!
What are your hobbies, interests? Taking family vacations is probably my favorite thing to do!
Do you have pets? I have a grand dog, Creed, that lives with me.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I was a pickleball champion at the YMCA years ago, before it became popular.
