About Lindsay Scheffers With a love for helping people, Lindsay Scheffers, CNM, was led to a career in nursing while in high school. “I care for women through their lifespan,” she says. Lindsay earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Valparaiso University, Valparaiso, IN, and completed her Certified Nurse Midwife education at Wayne State University, Detroit, MI. Her work experience has been as a Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Midwife in the state of Michigan. When asked what the favorite part of her job is, Lindsay says her answer is always ‘delivering babies.’ Lindsay’s approach to care is rooted in compassion. “My approach to caring for patients is that I listen to understand them and my goal is to gain their trust and respect.” In her own words… What was your first job growing up? I was a bagger at a grocery store. In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I love reading. I also have a love of Italy and all that comes with it.
