Dr. McBride decided to become a doctor her senior year of high school. She enjoyed science and relating to people, so medicine was a natural fit. She earned her Medical Degree from Indiana University School of Medicine, Indianapolis, IN, and her residency was also completed there in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In her family, Dr. McBride’s brother is an interventional cardiologist and her sister-in-law is a hematologist/oncologist, so she says her generation is well represented in the medical field.
As to her approach to practicing medicine, Dr. McBride wants people to know she practices medicine with care and compassion. “I spend the time needed with each person to give the best care I can.” She strives to practice with kindness and tries to ...

Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? My parents.
What was your first job growing up? I did secretarial type work in my mom's insurance office.
What is your favorite food? Movie? What was your best/worst subjects in school growing up? Favorite food: ice cream - My favorite movie is, The Chronicles of Narnia - My best subject in school was science / worst was English.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? My father. He died when I was in my mid-30s and I would love to tell him how much he influenced me and my family and how much his love of science has lived on.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? What are your hobbies, interests? Traveling, scuba diving, exercise (running and swimming), family, reading
What is something most people don’t know about you? My family raises rabbits and shows them in competitions.
