About Johnny Gerardot, MD
Johnny Gerardot doesn’t consider himself the typical physician who “always dreamed of being a doctor.” In fact, he was pretty certain he was going to be a musician and an artist when he finished high school! Instead, he started down the path toward a career in academia and worked in a molecular virology research lab. But, as he explains, “I learned very quickly that it was not for me.”
He ultimately wanted to be in a field where he could use science in a more direct and personal way. That, and a long family history of public service, led him to a career in medicine – and to Beacon. “I was fortunate enough to train at Memorial Hospital,” he says. “I’m excited to continue working in such a top-notch health system full of fantastic physicians and resources.”

As a family physician, Dr. Gerardot’s philosophy centers around one key principle: helping patients live their best lives. He is passionate about preventive care and enjoys getting to know his patients and their families over the course of generations. “If they’ve taught me one thing,” he says, “it’s to always expect the unexpected. Patients are not textbooks or exam questions. They are living, breathing people with hopes, fears and passions. Health issues can arise in a myriad of complicated and untraditional ways.”
Johnny’s goal is to meet his patients where they are, providing truly personalized care to help them take the next best step. “In my opinion, the patient-doctor relationship is a hallowed honor, and I hope to earn that trust from everyone in my care.” He adds, “I hope they see me as a kind, compassionate and tireless advocate for their health.”
