About Erin Guritz
When Erin Guritz, FNP, was in first grade, her class was asked to write about what they wanted to be when they grew up, and their responses were published in the newspaper. She wrote, “When I grow up, I want to be a nurse because I like to help people.” Years later, one of her high school friends sent her a picture of it and told her she was the only one in their class who became what they wrote about.
“Although my note had many misspellings, I was already certain that I wanted to dedicate my life to helping others,” Erin says. “In my nursing career, I have continued to learn and build my skills, inspired by my childhood desire to help others.”
Erin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing at Minot State University, Minot, ND. Her Master of Science in Nursing, Family Nurse Practitioner, was earned at University of North Dakota.

In her own words…
Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? My grandma. She taught me the value of kindness, patience and caring for others without expecting anything in return.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? I was a waitress at our family restaurant, where I developed strong communication skills. I’m thankful for the years spent working with my family, which remain some of my favorite memories.
What is your favorite food? Movie? My favorite food is hot wings! My favorite movie is Titanic.
What was your best/worst subjects in school? My best subject was chemistry. My worst subject was speech class.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? My grandma in heaven so that I could give her a big hug and tell her I love her.
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? I am passionate about being a mother. I love watching my children do what they love and seeing their own passions shine through.
What is something most people don’t know about you? I love listening to piano music.
