About Dr. Rizzo
For as long as he can remember, Nicholas Rizzo, MD, wanted to be a doctor. “I enjoy the challenges of putting things together from all aspects that Internal Medicine presents,” he says.
Dr. Rizzo earned his Doctor of Medicine degree at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine, Chicago, IL. His residency was completed at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI.
He has worked in internal medicine and as a hospitalist throughout his career. He has also served as a guest lecturer at Kendall College, Chicago, and as instructor of clinical medicine at his alma mater, Northwestern University.
His philosophy is to listen to the patient first. “Medical treatments have to be taken in the context of the patient, and in return patients have taught me things in nearly all aspects of life,” Dr. Rizzo says.

Who is or was the most influential people/role models in your life? My father taught me an old-school work ethic and at the same to adapt to change in the modern world.
What was your first job growing up? What do you remember about it? I worked at a soda fountain in my father’s pharmacy.
What is your favorite food? Movie? I have a culinary background and appreciate many styles of food. My favorite movies include Casablanca and Guardians of the Galaxy.
What was your best subjects in school growing up? My best subjects were science classes and creative writing.
If you could sit down to dinner with anyone (alive or deceased) who would it be and why? Sir Isaac Newton
In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? Cooking, science fiction and movies
