Shantel Bleeker

Shantel Bleeker, PA-C Shantel Bleeker, PA-C, provides care with a strong foundation in both medicine and nutrition. Her clinical experience spans interventional radiology, gastroenterology and urgent care, giving her a broad understanding of complex health conditions and the treatments patients may need throughout their care journey. In her current role in interventional radiology, she performs image-guided procedures and works closely with patients before and after treatment. As a physician assistant, Shantel is a medical provider who sees patients, conducts appointments and physical exams, prescribes medications, and recommends necessary testing. PAs allow both the doctors and PA to spend more time with patients. Bleeker's background includes several years of experience caring for patients with digestive health conditions in both outpatient and inpatient settings. She has evaluated and treated conditions affecting the liver, pancreas, esophagus, stomach and intestines, including inflammatory bowel disease, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hepatitis and pancreatic disorders. Her experience in urgent care further broadened her ability to evaluate and manage a wide range of acute medical concerns. Bleeker earned a Master of Science in Medicine in Physician Assistant Studies from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. She also completed graduate coursework in dietetics and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from Western Michigan University. Before becoming a physician assistant, she worked as a clinical dietitian, providing nutrition therapy and education for hospitalized patients. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed as a physician assistant in Michigan.
