About Maddison Frisbie, CNM
A challenge and making a difference in someone’s life were two things Maddison Frisbie, CNM, knew she wanted in a career. “During high school, I was considering what career I might see myself in. I knew I wanted to do something with my hands and with other people,” she says.
Her mom is a nurse and Maddison saw how she impacted those around here, both in and out of her job. “After shadowing a couple different medical professionals, I decided that nursing was the career that would best fulfill these hopes I had for myself and my future job,” Maddison says.
She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Hope College, Holland, MI. She completed the Certified Nurse-Midwifery Graduate Program at Bethel University, Saint Paul, MN. As a nurse midwife, providing care for women from puberty through their lifespan, delivering preventative and diagnostic care, as well as management of primary care and gynecologic health needs is all part of her role. As a nurse midwife, providing care for women from puberty through their lifespan, delivering preventative and diagnostic care, as well as management of primary care and gynecologic health needs is all part of her role. Maddison also provides holistic care to healthy women during pregnancy, labor and delivery, and the postpartum period.
Maddison believes in a shared decision-making model of care. And that goes beyond the care team and includes each individual she treats. “The patient is as much of a participant in their care as I am,” she says. “Through shared decision making, we can best create a plan of care that meets the patients both physical and emotional needs.”
As a provider, she believes all people should have access to a health care provider who is fair, trustworthy and kind. Maddison works to provide a space that is calm, welcoming, and respectful. “People should have the opportunity to be an active participant in their care,” she says.

In addition to medicine, what are you passionate about? Gardening, travel, and home improvement/repurposing furniture!
What are your hobbies, interests? I love to read (science fiction, romance and fantasy!), camp and hike, and work in my garden.
