About Amjad Ullah Syed, MD
Dr. Amjad Syed's love for the complexity of the human heart and its function led him to take up Cardiothoracic Surgery as his career. He successfully completed his General Surgery and then Cardiothoracic Surgery at Indiana University, Indianapolis. He then went on to pursue higher training in percutaneous valve therapies and complex cardiac surgery at Emory University, Atlanta.
"The most rewarding part of my job is seeing a major change in my patients," he said. "When they come in, they're in bad shape, struggling to complete activities of daily living. A month after a procedure, they're totally transformed. They have more energy, laugh, talk, and even look completely different. When the heart gets better, the whole body gets better."
Dr. Syed strives to treat patients like they are his own family members. Each night he goes home, knowing that patients have been taken care of in the best way possible, with compassion.
