About Jack H. Staddon, MD, PhD
Jack H. Staddon, MD, has a tried-and-true process for treating his patients. He starts by investigating scientific literature for what is known about his patient's condition, however rare and unusual the diagnosis. Then, he circles back to the patient and their parents so that they can make a shared decision regarding the next steps. “I am transparent with parents and patients about what we know and do not know about the medical condition.” Dr. Staddon says. “Where there are a variety of equally good options I especially lean on shared decision making. When there really is only one known life-saving decision, I try to be clear about why that is the case when presenting risks and benefits. I deeply respect and appreciate the wisdom and perspective my patients and parents bring to the table.”
